How new soft materials can stimulate medicine and many other fields

Soft materials are abundant both in nature and in the modern society. In our lab, we integrate concepts and techniques from engineering, chemistry, materials science, and biology to design responsive biomaterials to solve clinical problems in the fields of drug delivery, regenerative medicine, and biomedical diagnostics. These applications come to fruition only if we understand the underlying fundamental processes dictated by nature. In this workshop we introduce you to various materials, their concepts and how they can stimulate such various fields as medicine and robotics. You will learn the difference between Newtonian and Non Newtonian fluids, you can make some hydrogels at different ratios yourself, discover which ratios result in which properties and experiment with self healing and injectable hydrogels. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of soft polymers!
